Testimonials - Voices of Impact
Over the years, I’ve met incredible people from classrooms to communities across the world. If our paths have crossed, I’d love to hear how our connection made an impact. Your story might be the voice that inspires someone else.
This is my father. I have had direct access to this incredible man since birth. I am a part of many of the stories and lessons that he will tell through this blog. And I am a guiding force in our business, Champions voice. We have seen the world together. We have hunted for ants together in never ending fields. We have squirrel suit zip lined across hundreds of foot tree canopies in far away places. We have faced fears and overcame them. We have faced defeat head on and push through it. And we have been chained down by the voices of others and broke free by cultivating the voice within. We share a never ending love and gratefulness to go through this life together. I hope everyone who connects with him in this blog and beyond is able to truly hear his stories and message. If you do, there is no limit to the things you will be able to achieve in the is lifetime? How do I know? Because we are the living proof.

My connection with Mr. Curtis Davis began during my childhood, and throughout the years, he has remained a consistent source of leadership, guidance, and inspiration in my life. I have had the privilege of observing the positive influence he has made on young people—from children at the Boys and Girls Club to high school athletes on the football team. His commitment to mentorship and his genuine desire to see others succeed have left a lasting impression on me. Mr. Davis has taught me the importance of perseverance and the value of stepping outside of my comfort zone to achieve personal and professional growth. Through his example, I have learned that fear should never be a barrier to success, and that once challenges are faced, they are rarely as difficult as they seem. The person I have become today is, in many ways, a reflection of his mentorship and wisdom, for which I am deeply grateful.

While connecting with you briefly during your time in Vietnam. I feel we were able to see in each other, the progress and lessons learned over the years. I could see the growth, not only in our perspectives, but in our everyday routines, thoughts and ambitions. It was both beneficial and eye opening to share the experience of being in a place I’d never been, doing things I’d never done before. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there with you and I will always be grateful for your willingness to accommodate me while I was in town. It was definitely an experience that I will always cherish!

Throughout the years of being Uncle Curtis's mentee, I have learnt so much from him. One of the most valuable lessons is that I am strong enough to live the life that I've been given as long as I learn how to carry myself through darkness, fears, doubts. He taught me how to look at life with a different perspective and let life happen on its own. The more I want to escape the situation, the more I have to face it, so I learnt to enjoy the rain, if not then I'd miss all the fun. So make sure to take it slow and smell the roses along the way. I would say Uncle Curtis is probably the most positive person I've seen in my entire life, he lights every room he steps in, he cheers everyone up with his uplifting energy even when he's dealing with his own issues too. I remembered him coaching me through voice messages, he always makes sure to say hi to me in Vietnamese and end with "Take care and much love always. I'm your biggest cheerleader." His soul shines through his eyes and smiles when talking to me, he never fails to encourage me to pursue my goals and that everything is possible, reminding me the fact that “I can actually achieve everything I want by pushing myself towards positivity”. And I realized that great great people exist and that inspires me to become like one of them, like Uncle Curtis!
My healing journey started when I was 18, my mom sold my childhood house so I had to rent a place outside. I was crushed out for the entire freshman year, everything seems to fall apart, I lost faith in myself, in life, in relationships. My friends turned their back on me and my relationship failed. I never thought that all those damages were to build something better for me, I can't because it seems too much to handle. Then one day, Uncle Curtis texted me on Zalo and we began to communicate more. I told him how I was struggling with life, and he took time to understand the situation before giving me advice. We started sharing our thoughts on family traumas, failed relationships and mistakes. He started teaching me how to embrace my imperfections, understanding them and forgiving myself for not knowing better. We spent the entire summer reflecting mostly, and after releasing all the negativity, I was ready to move on to the next chapter. He always reminded me that I was on the right track, that kept me going on days where I find my emotions too heavy to carry, but it gets lighter with the help of Curtis.
Later on, we switched our topics from past traumas to setting new goals in life. To be honest, I wasn’t motivated at first because I just got out of the darkest time in my life so the future seems blurry to me. But slowly, I understand that once my mind is clear, new doors open for me. I started to find joy in pursuing higher education. For the longest time, I’m happy with what I do and I always tell Uncle Curtis about that, he’s always the one who claps the loudest for me in the room where no one does. I got the chance to be an MC for a couple of shows, and I want to raise my voice and inspire people just like Uncle Curtis does. He once told me that I should join community clubs to enhance my public speaking skills and it’s the exact thing that suits me, and he knew it from day 1.
Overall, I just want to show my deepest gratitude to Curtis for always uplifting me, for letting me know that I am capable of everything and am going to achieve every dream of mine. He’s the most open-minded person with the purest soul that I was lucky enough to meet and be friends with. I hope everybody who’s struggling with their lives find their way to Curtis because everyone deserves to feel the brightest light in people for once in their life and expand it to those who need it.

A Mentor Who Became Family, My Journey with Curtis Davis I still remember the first time I met Curtis Davis in India. He had come to teach at Oberoi International School as the Head of the Physical and Health Education Department. I was quite young then full of dreams, energy, and curiosity, but I had never even travelled outside India. Then one day, I met this tall, towering man with a warm smile and a heart even bigger than his presence. That was Curtis. I used to call him “Jag”, sometimes “Cuz”, and of course, “Sir” in our professional space. But titles didn’t really matter with him because from the moment we met, he made me feel like family. Our whole department loved him. There was something magical about his presence no one ever felt judged, even if they made mistakes. He created an environment where learning was fun, honest, and full of laughter. I could talk to him about anything whether it was a professional problem or something personal and somehow, he always had the perfect solution, as if he could fix things with just a snap of his fingers. Curtis was truly a magician — always multitasking with his laptop open, keeping an eye on students, guiding teachers, and yet finding time to listen. I learned basketball from him, and in return, I taught him yoga. He wasn’t the most flexible person but when it came to dunking baskets, he was unbeatable! We travelled together across Mumbai, and every journey with him was full of stories, lessons, and joy. Honestly, I learned more from Curtis than I ever did in college. His knowledge wasn’t just theoretical — it was pure experience, the kind that stays with you for life. He taught me lessons that shaped not only my career but also my character • Discipline and Dedication • Happiness, no matter the situation • Basketball, not just as a game but as a metaphor for life • Time Management and Leadership • And most importantly, how to manage people while staying humble and kind Curtis made a deep, lifelong impact on me during my early professional years. So much of what I’ve achieved today has his guidance and wisdom behind it. Even now, I often find myself observing him — learning silently from the way he leads, speaks, and inspires others. Thank you, Curtis Davis, for being my mentor, my friend, and my family. I wish you all the success for Champion’s Voice, where you’ll be sharing your incredible experiences with the world. People will learn so much from you just by observing, just like I did. You will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything. ❤️
